Biography

Khing (KhingWei Bai) is a Taiwanese artist from Taipei, currently based in Hamburg, Germany.
With a background in architecture, he brings spatial awareness and a sense of movement into a multidisciplinary practice spanning photography, installation, and interactive media. His works engage viewers in dialogues on identity, sexuality, and the shifting dynamics between artist, artwork, and audience. Drawing from the experience of navigating an outsider’s perspective—such as being Asian in Western contexts—he explores power relations, changing viewpoints, and body image.
His studies at HFBK Hamburg with Annika Larson, Angela Bulloch, and Tobias Zielony have deepened his interest in audience interaction and identity as central elements of his work.
